The Rock and Water Institute maintains the rule that the accreditation of a certified trainer, obtained by participating in the 3-day Rock and Water basic training, is valid for four years. Every four years after obtaining the Rock and Water trainer certificate, trainers must participate in a Refresher Day or one of the Rock & Water specialization trainings to maintain and renew their accreditation.
Why is refreshing your skills essential?
- Keeping knowledge and skills up-to-date: Without regular practice, there’s a risk that the quality of Rock and Water lessons will diminish. The course repeats the basic principles so you can sharpen your understanding of the core concept (“why do we do what we do?”). By proactively participating in continuing education, you not only maintain your expertise but also learn new exercises and methods, which allows you to keep giving the best possible training.
- Professional development and peer consultation: Continuing education provides an opportunity to ask crucial questions and reflect on your own practical experiences. By consulting with colleagues, you not only expand your professional network but also gain new insights and learn directly from each other’s successes and challenges.
- Quality assurance and guidance: Requiring continuing education ensures the quality of the entire training group. Under the guidance of our experienced trainers, basic exercises are practiced again so that techniques are applied correctly and safely.
The accreditation automatically expires on January 1st of the 5th year after the year in which the training was completed (e.g., if you received your certificate on October 31, 2020, your accreditation will expire on January 1, 2025). If this continuing education requirement is not met, the trainer will be listed as inactive in the trainer database, and this will be reported upon request from clients (school administration, parents, etc.). It will also no longer be possible to purchase course materials (such as manuals or workbooks).
